Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, the lodge and area is a popular ski resort and tourist destination. If you view this in large Mount Jefferson can just about be seen on the horizon. The lodge sits at an elevation of approximately 6,000 ft., a beautiful building built in the 1930s as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal during the Great Depression. The exterior of the building was used as the Overlook Hotel in the film The Shining.
