C2C Part 1

I had so many photos to choose from but this one is probably the most special to me. Brad Paisley is my all time favourite singer. Not only does he have a lovely voice, but he writes incredibly witty songs, has two minute guitar solos in most and is generally a cool guy.

The afternoon started off with a concert from Ward Thomas who are even better live than they are recorded - they have the most beautiful harmonies. Not only did we see them perform but we met them afterwards! Heidi got her shirt signed and had even requested a title for their next album. Still buzzing from this we had dinner but were all too excited to fully appreciate the food I think!

When we got to the arena we watched the last few songs by Jennifer Nettles, who was followed by an act that sang just the two songs (mum was not impressed!). Then Chris Young came on, who I was a fan of anyway but after seeing him perform, I fell completely in love with him. He has the most gorgeous deep husky voice and I don't think I've seen anyone as happy as he was the whole time he was performing. He sang a tribute to Keith Whitley which was a stunning performance and had us all singing along ("You Say It Best".)

Finally (the main reason I was so desperate to go to C2C) BRAD PAISLEY came on stage. And I very nearly cried, I did scream and enjoyed every single second. Heidi and I danced and sang the whole time. Knowing all the words to every single song and loving every minute. He sang all the perfect songs I wanted him to sing and even played us some of his new songs from his next album (selfie#theinternetisforever was the funniest I've heard ever). Half way through his set he came to the stage in the centre of the arena and I almost stopped breathing I was so excited. He was 10m away. That's all. 10m away from the guy that made me truly love country music.

He finished on such a high with The Mona Lisa, an all time favourite, encoring with Alcohol - quite apt for the state most people were in.

We made friends with the drunk lads behind us, who congratulated mum on raising Heidi and I right by listening to country music. Heidi also made friends with the lads next to her who appeared to be having a great time!

Hands down the best night of my life.
