This weekend our little part of Essen has a 'food (& supposedly, music*) festival' - the local restaurants set up their tents (chandeliers are not compulsory, but do add a certain something) and offer plates of food for usually less than 10€. It's the perfect location to meet friends and sit and eat and drink and chat.
