Abbotsford House

Both KryptoMart and I had a day off, so we decided to visit the Borders, taking the recently reopened Borders Railway line instead of using the car. The trip was lovely, only taking about 50 minutes to get to Tweedbank (between Galashiels and Melrose) and such good value for a return ticket (only £7.00 return, with a railcard discount).

Anyway, once we got there we got some steps in getting to Abbotsford House, the beautiful stately home of Sir Walter Scott. The house is lovely, with such a welcoming feel and stunning gardens too. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
