This poor male house finch was being heckled for food by one of his young (out of the frame on the right).
The dad would fly to our feeder, wait for his kid to come along, and then show it how to get some seed. Unfortunately, the baby had trouble perching on the feeder and never got the hang of getting its own seed. Hence the look above.
In extras, I posted a shot of a red poppy I saw for the first time this morning. I've only seen orange ones along our usual route.
