An ordinary life....

Grey Town Morning...

Alan had a gastro appointment at Perth Royal this morning, which was the first proper follow up from the gastro team since his ileostomy back in December (the colorectal team took over after that.)

The doctor we saw this morning last saw Alan just before his operation in December when he was at his sickest, and to say he was delighted to see the healthy, happy lad in front of him today would be a great understatement.   He was over the moon to see him so well and see that he has regained all the weight he lost.

Alan had been full of smiles before we went into the consulting room (lots of lovely nurses to smile at!) but was rather stoney faced when the doctor was chatting to him.  Then I remembered the last time we had an appointment at the gastro clinic, it was the female registrar who saw him and not the Doctor, so I think that's who he'd been expecting to see again.

So, a positive consultation and no need to go back till November.  It feels good to be back under their watchful eye.

Home for lunch then David headed off to meet three friends to play golf at Dullatur.  I could have done lots of things such as ironing, tesco online shopping, dinner prep but the sun came out and the garden room looked very inviting so I decided that since David was indulging one of his passions, I would indulge one of mine.

I made a large mug of coffee, sat down in my big squishy black velvet chair, (which is temporarily in the garden room) feet up, headphones on and spent three glorious hours listening to Kate Bush's Before the Dawn album in its spectacular entirety.

Utter, utter bliss!

And now back to reality.  Dinner to be made and Tesco order to be completed.

But on a positive note, it's Friday.  A wee G&T whilst cooking dinner will be very much enjoyed and Tesco order will take no more than half an hour.

Thereafter, my comfy chair, headphones and some more of the sublime KT shall take me back to that blissful state.
