Kereru in the Kowhai

One of our resident New Zealand wood pigeons took up residence in the kowhai just outside my study today, spending quite a bit of the afternoon browsing on the fresh leaves.

It's great to be able to capture all of their beautiful colours from such a close distance. I also liked how he seemed to have his fluffy trousers on for winter!
