A last-minute change of plan today. After changing Mum's bedding, cooking lunch and clearing up I set off for Chesham in order to go to a ballet performance at the Wycombe Swan with friends. It was "The Red Shoes", one of Matthew Bourne's acclaimed productions, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. His ballets are always brilliant at conveying the story and the emotion, and I thought the staging, lighting and costumes were excellent as well as the beautiful dancing. What a treat!

Before I left Mum's, I noticed her newly-altered top hanging up - here it is. I think she's done a great job removing the peplum and making bells for the sleeves from some of the fabric she cut off. So clever and enterprising! I wonder what the designer, David Emmanuel, would make of it? :-)
