IT'S BEEN A WHILE

He longs to leave the raging world behind,
and find a place of solitude and peace,
where quietness allows him to unwind,
till conflicts that bombard his thinking cease.

Along a path, he walks towards the park.
At last, he finds a bench beneath a tree
with leafy boughs and cocoa coloured bark.
He takes a seat and lets his thoughts flow free.
