Gran's garden
In Beverley today, cutting my gran's hawthorn hedge! Last time we did it was 2 years ago... it's grown LOTS since then... it's a very prickly job as the hedge is over 7ft high and interspersed with 10ft high Ground Elder, which we had to hack down with blunt hand axes and broken pruning saws... my gran really needs some new tools! Nettles and brambles were also there in abundance.
Still, the 100ft of hedge we did looks a lot better (and we look a lot worse!) - gran had a smile on her face which made it all worth it! Oooo, and there was tea and cakes!
