Solace of roses

A head-down, keyboard-pounding day, writing reports ahead of a motor trade awards final judging session tomorrow. Late this afternoon, I emerged briefly from the office for a soothing stroll in the garden, where the roses are lushly in bloom and contrast beautifully with the vibrant lime green of the climbing hop plants.
So chilling to think of all those people who awoke to a raging fire in their block of flats last night. Unspeakably sad.
