Defenders of the Flag

One of my favorite things about the little cemetery at the Ross Church, located on a green and winding backroad not far from where we live, is the number of American flags that decorate the graves of veterans.

In the morning light, Old Glory almost seems to glow from every corner, as the white church itself sits serenely in the background. I make my way respectfully, quietly, and I honor those who defended our flag and our country, even with their lives.
