Call The Midwife Talk

I'm a big fan of Call The Midwife and last night I went to a talk given by the husband and daughter of the author of the books, Jennifer Worth.  It was really interesting hearing about Jennifer's life and her career as a midwife and nurse and how the books came to be written and the TV series made.

Sadly Jennifer died in May 2011 several months before the first episode of Call The Midwife was shown on TV.

I bought In The Midst Of Life last night as it was the only one of the books I hadn't read.  All the proceeds from last nights talk went to a hospice in Herfordshire.  Jennifer lived in that area for many years.
