Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

NEW STEAD

Only one possible blip today - the shiny new bike. Picked it up this morning and feel already that this is the start of a beautiful new friendship. I enjoyed cycling home with it from Pollokshields, mainly on cycle tracks. Grand whizzing through Pollok Park where there appeared to be a cattle show going on - the stewards were stopping all the cars and waving me straight through. In Johnstone, a drunk old man grabbed me confidentially by the arm and sighed, 'Are you no the wee lassie I used to go riding wi'? I liked the way it rekindled something for him - as it did for me.

Crashed out with a rare headache in the afternoon (new helmet adjusted too tightly?) then revived and went off on the bike delivering packages down the far end of the village. Tomorrow - maybe biking with the VIP!

GOOD THINGS:
The Professor doing the shopping, although it was really my turn
The expert, kindly attention from Craig MacMartin at hisbike shop
Looking forward to seeing the VIP tomorrow - we missed him last weekend

EXERCISE DIARY:
13 miles bringing the bike home from the shop
2 miles biking round the village
