Today I went...

...to get my hand dressed again at the Cottage Hospital. It looks tons better than it looked on Saturday where it scared me a little with the swelling and the redness. So a lovely new clean dressing was put on.

I was tired after this so went to the hospital tea bar run by volunteers. There was a much older silver haired lady there on her own. I needed something to give me some energy which was draining fast...

I asked for a hot chocolate. She didn't have a clue what to do with the machine. I gently asked her if she had used it before. She said yes.

A few minutes later she went for help, but no one knew. So she came back. Tried again, and looked at me. So I told her I had all the time in the world and sat down by the counter. I joked it was like when you try every combination when you are opening double doors, and it was always the very last one you try.

She looked back at the machine with determination and jabbed all the buttons...suddenly the door opened, and she was delighted and she then put the sachet in its compartment ....

Finally I got my hot chocolate!

She talked and talked and talked...it was good practice for me and my remapped processor. She had a very gentle voice, and these are the colours I saw as she talked. But I cannot do the picture I saw in my head justice. It was much more gentler pastel colours, yet they were intense.

I had to put my coloured pencil drawing through an app to try and get better the colour that I saw. This still doesn't do her voice justice. That grey bit in the middle should be a more shimmery silver. But I only have a dull grey pencil.

But this will have to be my pic for today for my challenge to myself of a pic every day in 2017.
