Sights, sounds, and smells.
Tuesday, and one of the largest markets in Provence is in Vaison- la- Romaine.
We are lucky that we can walk into the town and don't have the worry of where to park.
The collage is just a few of the many photos I took, as always.
Olives and tapenade from nearby Nyons.
Ail-violet ( garlic) from Provence.
The colourful pottery from the next village of Crestet.
Fruit from local growers.
Giant Paella.( All gone by 10.30am.)
Music and tap dancing for our entertainment.
One of the biggest and best markets in Provence, and the reason we first visited the town over 20 years ago.
A lovely salad for lunch made with some of the produce we bought, including a wild boar sausage, and goats cheese.
In the afternoon we did one of our favourite drives from Malaucene, over the Col de Suzette to Beaumes de Venise, where we like to buy some bottles of the special sweet wine, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise.
This time we also tasted a sweet rose muscat, something I haven't seen before, and so had to have a bottle of that to take home as well.
We also bought some Vin de Pays rose. A 3 ltr box for 6 euros. This is now chilling in the fridge for us to drink while on holiday.
A very quaffable wine. Perfect for this hot weather. Don't think it will last until we come home! Two glasses drunk already.
Well in temperatures of 38c what else is there to do after a dip in the pool?
Thank you all for your kind comments stars and hearts since we left the UK. So kind of you to follow our holiday blips.
I am trying to keep up.
