Another day spent waiting
My Mac is still being repaired; the dealer thought they had a drive in stock, but when I went all the way into Cape Town to collect it, it turned out that there was no stock after all.
Grrr.
So, I decided to go and sightsee Cape Town Castle. Dating back to the 17th century, the castle is very interesting but embarassingly poorly maintained.
The entrance fee is only US$2, or about £1.25 so I suppose not being looked after shouldn't be a surprise. Strange though, the place is garrisoned by the SA National Defence Force; one organisation that's defnitely not short of manpower.
So, I decided that I should indulge myself after climbing around the Castle's battlements (today's pic is one of the staircases, showing some of the Castle's yellow walls). Beer and a fine chicken trinchado in the Dias Tavern made me feel much better and might even attract me back tomorrow when I go on the collection trail again ;-)
