Day in Town

Morning coffee at the Midland Hotel, followed by a guided tour of the Town Hall which will close shortly for much needed refurbishment costing £350M.  A great building and worth every penny to keep it for the coming generations.   We learnt a lot including the fact that the design was based on The Cloth Hall in Ypres, Belgium which was very badly damaged in the First World War.  Afternoon in the Northern Quarter, the extras a couple of the murals in the aftermath of the recent atrocity
