Stuck!

Spoiler alert if you are a crossword solver!
Certainly a work in progress.  My husband is a crossword fan, and I understand that the Guardian Genius is reckoned to one of the harder nationally published crossword, and this particular one is thought to be very difficult. He is not really an 'addlehead', as he always manages to complete them in the end.
