Open Farm Sunday

The Isle of Man Beekeepers had a stand that this farm called Orrisdale in the South of the Island.

It was open today as a part of the national scheme of Open Farm Sunday. Our stand was in a barn and we were surrounded by pens  of lambs and sheep shearing displays.

So here you see our beekeeping "team" demostrating to the public just what we bee keepers get up to.  I was surprised by the number of people who took an interest and particularly with children who enjoyed looking at a colony of bees in a glass sided hive.
