Chatelherault Country Park

Believe it or not this was a hunting lodge & summer house built for the former Dukes of Hamilton in the 18th century. It is now a visitor centre as well as hosting weddings and large open air events.
It was built at the end of a grand avenue with Hamilton Palace at the southern end, sadly the Palace was demolished in the 1920's but the lodge was restored by Historic Scotland at the beginning of the eighties.
Only a few miles from the centre of Glasgow which can be seen in one of the extra's along with the Hamilton Mausoleum which is the resting place of the family of the Dukes of Hamilton. There is plenty of walks in the area and very popular with dog owners. Also in the extra is a portrait bench blip of some of more well known Scots.
