Goat's beard

The wonderfully frothy flowers of aruncus diocus (goat's beard) unfortunately don't last long. The creamy white becomes progressively browner until the seeds begin to form. Then they take on a greenish hue before browning once more. But, briefly, they look spectacular as the flowers peak, and the bees seem to find them irresistible, showing up very clearly against the white background, as they busy themselves hunting for nectar.
