Help!!!!!

Two things for you today.
Can anybody identify this bush please? I've a feeling it's some sort of holly. The reason I ask is that the main bush, from which this cutting was savaged, was once again absolutely covered in hundreds of worker bees and most noticeably Red Admiral butterflies with a few wasps and fritillaries thrown in for good measure.

Second. She's going to go nutty. What did I do wrong? Answers on a crisp tenner to the usual address.
