Trip to St Austell
Finished work midday today, home to pack (quickly), before hitting the road down to Cornwall. Google said it would take 4.5 hours (via motorway), actually took us 5.5 hours (allowing for a comfort stop and change of driver).
Our children gave us for Christmas a Red Letter Day voucher to The Eden Project, so had booked this a few months ago. Thought we would stay overnight, so booked into local accommodation - quite a long way to come for the day (from Berkshire).
Once booked into our room, we decided to take a trip out with the plans to eat fish and chips on the beach. Took a trip to the beach, no fish and chips shops. Found a shop in town then found a lay-by to eat (steamy windows!). We had tried to work out why some places were familiar and then remembered we had been on holiday in this area 17 years ago - Duporth Holiday Village. Trip to the beach to reminiss. Unfortunately, the holiday village closed in 2006 and they have built on it. This was the last holiday we had with our dad.
Weather - wet! Fingers crossed for a nice day tomorrow :)
