Exercising our right to be ignored

Dorothy lived in the midst of the great Kansas prairies, with Uncle Henry, who was a farmer, and Aunt Em, who was the farmer's wife.

At the fringes of the green expanse of the Borders, Robbie, Megan and I exercise our democratic rights and vote to overturn the last election's narrow Mundell victory. We're not optimistic.

I rush to Lanark to pick up a trailer. At West Mains the crew assembles in light drizzle and we resume wood processing. Within hours we're soaking. Then, at 2:00, the processor breaks again - this time it's the hydraulics of the splitter. So tomorrow is off and the final day of processing will need to be postponed. Again.
