The Political Whoosh of the General Election
Almost forgot to vote today. Remembered at about 20.23ish. Realised that the ghost of my father would appear if I did not vote. Saying that it would be lovely to see him and today was his birthday. This is the man who, when I received a birthday card from the very established local Conservative MP on my 18th birthday, grabbed said card, dashed into the garden, ripped the card up and threw the pieces to the wind. This was accompanied by swearing and ranting about all things Conservative, and in particular Margaret Thatcher. When I managed to stop laughing I reassured him that I would never vote Conservative. A year later Margaret Thatcher won the General Election.
WhooshBlip taken at 23.51 watching David Mitchell, Jeremy Paxman and Richard Osman and a collective of others on Channel 4s Alternative Election Night as I am wide awake ...
