ELECTION DAY HAS ARRIVED

I didn't need to go in person to vote today as I sent my postal vote off last week.  So when this leaflet dropped on my mat there was no chance of it influencing my vote.   ( Not that it would have anyway I can assure you.)

The leaflet is from The Space Navies Party. Their candidate is for the Blaydon constituency

" Founded by Lisabela Zxywhiddm Marschild who is  the Marshall of the Space Navies. She is it's leader.  She created the Space Navies as an organisation with a Vision, an organisation styled on military lines with Ranks and insignia to wear, medals awarded for various important reasons, uniforms to wear them on, with a Manifesto and policies for the party, flags to fly and parade, songs and music to sing and play,BUT DIFFERENT to any Military as This Is The Worlds First Navy Dedicated to PEACE AND PROSPERITY FOR ALL."

If elected Lisabela will :~

#  Abolish the monarchy and the House of Lords

#  Set the PM's wage at £35,000

#  MP's will earn £19,000 a year

#  If a person' wealth is more than £500,000 they have to pay anything above that to the treasury - or they go to prison.

#  There will be a new parliament building - in Blaydon.

#  If you own  a Company it will confiscated and converted into a Workers Co-operative. All profits will be shared by the All the workers. You will be now the Manager of that Workers Co-operative. The workers are now your bosses. The Profit sharing will include you although your wage as manager may be reduced.

Fortunately there is no chance of Lisabela winning the seat.  There is no real chance of any party except Labour winning the seat. The seat has been a safe seat for The Labour Party since 1945. But it will be interesting to see just how many people put a cross next to Lisabela's name.

I was supposed to go out for a meal with Neil last evening but in the end he had to cancel as he had to work.  And he is working long days until next Wednesday so I decided to go and see him at work today.  He had been to the doctors this morning. The big toe on his left foot started hurting last week after he knocked it.  He thought he might have broken it.  However he still ran a Marathon last Sunday.  Since then his toe has become increasingly painful and last night he couldn't sleep for the pain.  So he managed to get an appointment with a doctor - who thinks he has gout.   I know first hand that gout is VERY painful as I have had it a couple of times years ago.  Douglas suffered from it too.  ( the doc told Neil its not hereditary ) So the doc took a blood sample and the results will be ready on Monday.  Meanwhile Neil is taking antibiotics in case he has an infection and Ibuprofen for the pain.  Poor soul he looked worn out through lack of sleep and he could hardly walk around. Hope the pain eases soon.
