Eastbourne Pier

After placing my vote this morning l, along with friends, caught the train down to Eastbourne for the day. A pleasant 1 hour 10 minutes journey through the English countryside and there we were on the south coast. We really went down to go to the Towner Gallery there to see an Eric Ravillious exhibition which was showing. Ravillioys is a thoroughly English painter, designer and lithographer with beautiful images from the 1930s, close in time but seemingly an age away in some aspects. A really good exhibition at an excellent gallery, l hope it survives the cuts being meted out to cultural organisations now a days.

Afterwards a walk along the waterfront, a bite to eat and home again. A good day.
