Diary of an Edinburgher

Voting!

Dreich day, but I avoided most of it by dozing all morning. Very lazy. JR took Archie out and went to the gym.

The rain did not let up, so eventually we had to walk out to the polling station in the rain. I hope they appreciate it. An officious lady came running out to me and said that dogs were not allowed in. I said I would wait outside (in the rain) but she insisted that dogs were not allowed on the premises (it's a school). I said that of course I'd pick up any dog poos, but she insisted, enigmatically, that it was 'because of allergies etc'. Several people watched this exchange and offered to hold the dog while I went in and voted.

We called in to see Christine and Rufus, luckily, because she had a big bag of fresh peas for me (and Archie, who goes even more bonkers for them).

Back home, soaked, but happy to munch peas and watch the tennis, with the central heating on full tilt! I may stay up tonight to watch results for a while. Then again I might not, there will be enough about it all tomorrow. Thank goodness the mens' tennis semis are on instead.
