Graduation Day - 1967

Dear Diary,

This is another, "On this date..." posts.  It was 50 years ago today that I graduated from Hudson High School (Go Hawks!).  Ironically, it was a Thursday too.  Odd day for a graduation but we gathered in the school gymnasium at 8:00 pm for the event, I still have the program.

This is me, on the left, and my BFF, Betty Ann proudly displaying our diplomas and roses.  We started school together in 1955.  We have been friends for 62 years.  This September what is left of our class, and we have lost a few, some to the Vietnam War, will gather to celebrate our 50th reunion.  It just seems inconceivable that 50 years have passed.

I plan a few days of high school memory posts.  Maybe they will prompt you to drag out your old year book and take your own trip down memory lane.  What a different world it was in 1967.  This country was in the turmoil of the Vietnam War which tore the country apart.  Now, we have new divisions, new turmoils, but life marches on whether we are prepared for it or not.
