Wednesday: Floods

The Okanagan Lake is currently flooding - it's set to reach its highest level on 16th June.  Consequently, there are a lot of sandbags and pumps around at the moment.  It's to do with the large amount of rain, the late snow and the recent snowmelt.

I had a day of meetings but finished early enough for us to be able to go for a long bike ride through the heritage area and down to the lake.

And a real bonus tonight - a free dinner.  We were eating out and our order took about .45 minutes to arrive.  Fact is, we were chatting and hadn't really noticed until the manageress came over, apologising profusely and telling us that, as a result, our dinners were on the house.  It was a really generous gesture.e
