Mary's Birthday
Today we were in Our Lady's School to meet the new first years and tell them about Wells for Zoe and about our wonderful link with the school for the past five years.
We also wanted to thank the school and the staff for all they do for us and the people of Malawi where we work. Last year the school enabled us to bring clean, safe drinking water to over 10,000 of the worlds poorest as well as helping with so many other projects.
This year, the first years are having a dance for water in the school in a few weeks time and I feel that there will be a great effort to raise more than last years first year group, although that might be expecting alot of them.
Mary got her birthday cake baked specially today, by Elizabeth. Here she is pictured with two fifth year girls, Nicole and Aoife, on the left, spent a month volunteering with us, at Easter, as part of her transition year work. She was amazing and represented the school so well and we are so proud of her. She also looked after her mother Kate as part of her duties!!
We thank the girls and the staff for the wonderful welcome, as usual and for the interest and attention for what was their last class of the week!!
Well done to all.
