Picos de Europa

We left Toledo this morning for the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain.  A dry and hot landscape is finally replaced by a cooler, greener one.

A long, and in the last hundred miles or so, tortuous drive.  For skilfully finding a route through Madrid and then 50 miles of mountain roads with an out of date map, means that Anniemay has now qualified for her Navigator First Class badge.

The main shot was taken at a rest spot in the mountains.  The extra is a final reminder of the colourful South.
