A Path Forward

California has an economy that is considered in the top 12 of all the nations on earth, and that carries some clout. The Governor of California, Jerry Brown, traveled to China and met with leaders there to form an alliance to work together on climate change innovations: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-usa-climatechange-idUSKBN18X068

The state joined with the states of Washington & New York to form The United States Climate Alliance, and other states have followed suit: "The U.S. Climate Alliance announced that Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia have all joined the coalition, which is committed to upholding the Paris Accord and taking aggressive action on climate change."
