Two for One Special...

Mono Monday and How you get around in one blip...

On 18 August 1994 I was first dispatched on a load from Seattle Washington to Los Angeles California starting my truck driving career. That is where On the road comes from. My Avatar is my two companions that have been with me the entire time...

As for johnsmiley1321.... My first name is John and at one point of my career I had a dispatcher that told me I was the "go to" guy.. She knew that I would alway get the job done one way or another and smile while doing it. She nicknamed me john smiley and the name stuck until I changed jobs. As for the numbers? When I got an email address john smiley was taken, those are easy number to remember...

Now for how do you get around? Out of 320 million people in the United States about 3.1/2 million are truck drivers. From that about half are over the road, spending many nights on the highways, truck stops, rest areas and.. So I have taken this challenge literally.. as for 22 years I had spent 7 to 45 days away from home, with my sole transportation, sleeping area, living area and... in a truck like this photo..

Over 2 million miles / 3.2 million km on the road and counting... 

Due to health issues I had to take a local job where I am only out on the road a few days a month now, still in the last 6 weeks I average 1500 miles / 2400 km a week.. 

And yes this is my current truck...
