is an abbreviation for my very long name María Carolina Páez de Valencia (Valencia being my husband's last name), a name that I added to mine when we got married, just the way we use to do in Latin America. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, but now have spent more than half my life in the US. 

Blipper Scribbler got me interested in blip. Writing friends from my time in Portland, she thought I would like to give blip a try, and here you have me almost 4 years later.
