Leaving on a ferry

Today we went on the boat from Ijmuiden to Newcastle.

Due to google (and us not checking the route) we had a very scenic drive to Ijmuiden through villages in polder. In Ijmuiden we had a goodbye lunch with Pieter's mother who only live about 30 minutes away. The restaurant served very good fish and LOTS of it.

After that we got in line with the car. Passed the check-in and then waited in another lane. After about 2 hours of waiting in two locations we finally got on the boat (where I performed a most excellent hill-test).

Our cabin was really tiny ... but otherwise sufficient. The boat also had a cinema where we went to watch Quantum of Solace. The cinema was really just a room with some chairs and a beamer. The beamer on a vibrating and swaying boat isn't really ideal ... but we still enjoyed it. We had a very rocky evening with the boat swaying a lot, but we didn't throw up :).
