One of the distinguishing features of urban planning in DC is the alleys that run between streets behind the houses. Here is ours - every 6 months my wife takes the lead with a group of other Moms to organize the 'Rally in the Alley' which is happening today. Note the bouncy castle on the right. The apparent sparse attendance is misleading - most people are sheltering from the heat in the garages. I spent an hour or so there; nice to get to know the neighbors.
