The Dales

I had great difficulty in choosing a blip today as every shot I took was a candidate, so beautiful is this area. After church we walked along the river at Aysgarth and picnicked by the waterfalls. In the afternoon we took in Wensleydale, Wharfedale, Bishopsdale and Coverdale admiring both the views and the hay meadows full of blankets of yellow buttercups. The afternoon ended with a walk on the gallops above Middleham where the racehorses are exercised every morning. Given the terrible events in London I feel privileged and grateful to be able to enjoy such a day.
