A Splendid Day Out

Oh what a splendiferous day! I went along to Morecambe with Jude for a steampunk event. Pat was supposed to be with us, but she backed out at the last minute...and she soooo regretted it when we saw her later on. 

I collected some steamunk finery for Jude to put an outfit together and we set off for the seaside. I did have a little moment when I panicked inwardly as I suddenly thought we should have been going to Lytham. I was relieved when I saw a sign for A Splendid Day....phew, right place, right day. 

It was such fun to be part of a select bunch of wackily, weird and wonderful people. We wandered up and down the promenade chatting to fellow punkers. Everyone was so friendly, we had such a laugh. The sun shone down on us all day, it was glorious. 

The best part was when we joined in the 'Big Promenade'...we all paraded along the front. What a great sight we made in our costumes. We stopped at the steps for a huge group photograph. 

On the way home we sent a text in to Zoe Ball about our fab day...and she only went and read it out....the icing on the cake!
