Young ones

We put two younger heifers in the small paddock on Thursday. One of them almost fled (three times), so we changed the plan and delayed putting the next two in there to the next day.

It didn't work out quite the way we thought it would. One of them fled via the garden and the yard, made a pit stop in an empty silage pit and then to the road. We finally guided her to the large paddock after two attempts to turn her back. After observing the situation for a while, we thought it's best to put the other three in there as well. Having them on opposite sides of a ditch looking at each other seemed to cause restlessness which might end up with broken fences and the cattle who-knows-where!

Anyway, one of them broke a fence soon, but after that the situation calmed down a bit, though they still look a bit restless later in the evening in the blip.

It was a cold and windy day (look at the birches in the background), with +3°C until noon and +8°C in the evening.
