Hand in Hand
It has been another cloudy day, but not too cold, although I have had a fire going. I went to watch little 'h' play Netball this morning, they were fortunate to clock up another win. After lunch I went for a walk along the lake, which is where I got this photo. An evening in front of the fire and TV is Plan A for me tonight. I did over 8,000 steps today, so pleased with that.

Three more radio stations came on air, one in Auckland, another in Wellington and the third in Christchurch. They were on air for a few hours per week, and there were less than 1,000 listeners.
NZ first Poppy Day was held on 24 April, the day before ANZAC Day. More than 260,000 poppies were sold, earning 13,166 Pounds, which is about $1.2 million in today's money. The money was used to assist the unemployed returned soldiers and their families, and to help war ravaged areas of northern France.
The NZ Correspondence School was opened to provide lessons to about 100 isolated primary school children scattered throughout NZ.
Famous New Zealander: Godfrey Bowen, a sheep shearer. He set the world record in 1953 by shearing 456 sheep in nine hours.
