An ordinary life....

The Red Barns...

Blipped recently from further afield.

There are so many farms around here and the thing that strikes me about all of them is how tidy the farm buildings are.   The main entrances to the farmhouses and main farm buildings all seem (to my casual eye anyway) to be very spic and span.

Great news today...we got Alan's old wheelchair accessible car sold (the Chrysler Grand Voyager.)   It was great for taking on holiday as we could pack so much stuff in it but for every day use was a nightmare.  Too big, too faulty (kept losing charge so had to keep it on trickle charge in the garage), too low underneath so kept getting grounded on speed bumps, a nightmare to park and rusting like billy-o underneath due to the wheelchair conversion. I could go on but you get the picture.

The trade didn't want it and weren't even sure we could give it away but it turns out that good old We Buy Any Car really do what they say.  And we got a decent amount for it.  Result.

Also got a call from the wheelchair people confirming Alan's old power chair will indeed be scrapped so he will get a shiny new one (a new model too as that one is obsolete.)  He has an appointment next Wednesday where he will get a temporary power chair until the new one arrives.  I don't expect it will be a fast process but at least he will get a power chair of sorts to see us through.

After a late lunch at Delivinos we headed to Dobbie's Garden Centre in Perth to buy plants for the hanging baskets and some new containers for the walls at the front door.   Turns out you can choose your plants, baskets and tubs and they will plant them up there and then for free.   Given that we are prone to buying plants them not planting them up for ages, this is a very good service.

An hour later we were heading home with all the hanging baskets and planters ready to be watered and put in place.  Perfect :-))

I ordered a little bird ornament for the WC thinking he would be small and close to the life size of a small garden bird.  He arrived today and David (who is bird phobic) is not impressed.  See extra...hahahahahaha!    I think he may now be destined for the Gin Palace :-))
