Callenish Standing Stones, Calanais, Lewis
Today we cycled from Seaforth on the east coast of Harris to Uig on the west coast of Lewis. As the crow flies, this is a very short distance; by road it is somewhat longer.
Pedalling for the first 26 miles was very easy with the wind behind us. It was rather more challenging to cross from Leurbost, and hard in places in the latter part of the journey when we were cycling directly into a head wind.
It took us 6 hours to cover the whole route, including a lunch break at Callenish and a brief visit to the standing stones (as blipped).
We're now settled in for five nights at our favourite holiday destination: Baile-na-Cille on the Isle of Lewis - and the sun is out again :-)
Exercise today: 50 mile tandem ride.
