longest pointer

Many years ago I was sitting at the edge of the mat at judo one evening closely inspecting my thumbs, as one looked a bit swollen. Becoming aware that it had gone silent, I looked up to find everyone looking at me. The deputy sensei Tom asked what I was doing, so I explained that one of my thumbs was bigger than the other. For some time afterwards I was referred to as "odd fellow", to the great amusement of my sister and neighbours, also in attendance.
