Moose!
Moose sightings, bear sightings, tourist sightings, all part of the excursion into the huge Denali National Park. Groups of tourists are loaded into upscale school buses at the hotel, driven the short distance to the park entrance, then driven for miles into the back country on dirt roads.
My initial reaction to the plan was, "four or five hours, in a school bus, on a dirt road, surely this is a joke!" Well, my dear, long-suffering wife persuaded me (as she usually does) to accompany her the four or five hours. I had to admit again, she was wiser than I.
The school bus was spacious with cushioned seats. The driver provided water, and we stopped regularly for nature calls. The outdoor facilities were not too primitive, and I think all aboard had a grand time.
We did see a number of animals, wild animals, moose, sheep, caribou, and, of course, the wild tourists from the cruise.
I'm glad I went.
