We're back, and so too is the Goldfinch

My dear wife and I yesterday returned home from a two-week adventure in Alaska. I should post a few images from the trip. Maybe I will.

Being gone from home for two weeks, however, is an increasing challenge for a fat fellow of my age. Nonetheless, the trip was truly a sea-land adventure that, after the fact, I think was well worth the effort, the energy, the money expended

But, I'm wandering from today's photograph. Of course, our trip precluded taking care of the backyard bird feeders, and there was not a bird to be found in the yard when we arrived home. Today's fresh filling of the feeders (sunflower seeds, wild bird feed mix, meal worms, peanuts, and thistle) certainly brought back the birds.

Perhaps, one of the more striking is the American Goldfinch. The pictures bright yellow fellow wasted little time in visiting the thistle sack. He enjoyed the thistle, and I enjoyed him.

Keep smilin'

(I think I will review some of the images made during the Alaska sojourn, and I'll post a few on the appropriate dates.)
