Crane Fly, Ctenophora pectinicornis
One of my favourite places for finding interesting insects is on the nettle beds beside our burn, today my eye was instantly caught by this one. At first I thought it was an Ichneuman Wasp but I later discovered that it was actually a Crane Fly, one of the less common Ctenophora pectinicornis. A stunner.!!
