Took a trip back in time...

... when I was dragged along  persuaded to attend a horsey event today.

I felt fans of the TV series Midsomer Murders would feel quite at home in such a country atmosphere, typified by this strange tableau. I was rather hoping the proceedings could be livened up with the discovery of a gruesome body in the bushes.

As it was, there were opportunities for little bits of show jumping action but I found it difficult to avoid photographing the eccentricities all around me (see some more in the in today's extras).
