John in the bubble

A big day today.... After years of planning to do this, challenges with architects going out of business at a crucial moment, and the stresses of obtaining a building warrant, work started on joining the two parts of our house together.

The main job is re-opening two old doorways that were sealed off years ago. John, who's doing most of the work for us, came in today and being a neat worker (as well as a perfectionist) he decided to build "bubbles" around both sides of the first door we're opening up to prevent the spread of dust. We're still a little way from actually breaking through, but by the end of today we were able to start wielding hammer and crowbar to  investigate exactly what's what and what needs to be done - very satisfying!! :)
